An interview with the Rev. Dr. Yvette Flunder, founder and senior pastor of City of Refuge UCC in San Francisco and presiding bishop of The Fellowship, is the most recent addition to LGBT-RAN’s Oral History Project. The interview, conducted by Dr. Monique Moultrie, explores Flunder’s childhood in a devout Church of God in Christ family in San Francisco through a time a vocational searching in early adulthood to Bishop Walter Hawkin’s Love Center in Oakland where Flunder found a gospel of acceptance and became a preacher and gospel singer. This interview is the 6th in a series of oral histories with Black LGBT religious leaders and is the 24th posted to LGBT-RAN’s Oral History Project.
